After enjoying teppan yakiniku at Bikkuritei Honke Head Shop in Minamifukuoka, I headed to a nearby restaurant called Ganso Bikkuritei Head Shop for a series of teppan yakiniku meals, but unfortunately, the restaurant was closed that day. I had checked the restaurant’s official website and the Tabelog to make sure it was open on that day, but… no one answered the phone when I called the restaurant, and after thinking about it for a while, I decided to give up the idea of having a series of meals and return to Hakata. But I could not give up, and as I was agonizing in the train, I thought to myself, “I remember there was a branch in Hakata…” I decided to go directly to Ganso Bikkuritei Sumiyoshi Branch when I arrived in Hakata. Now, how is this restaurant called “Ganso Bikkuritei” different from Bikkuritei Honke? If you have the same question, please continue reading this article to the end…
Free rice and miso soup service during weekday lunch hours…Ganso Bikkuritei Sumiyoshi Branch is a restaurant like this…
Ganso Bikkuritei Sumiyoshi Branch is still new, having opened in March 2022 as the only branch of Ganso Bikkuritei Head Shop in front of Sakura Namiki Station. Therefore, the cleanliness of the store is quite different from that of the Bikkuritei Honke Head Shop that I visited earlier. I love that kind of low-key atmosphere, but there are some people who don’t like it. I think the significance of this restaurant’s existence as a place where such people can casually enjoy teppan yakiniku is quite high….
The restaurant, which has a very ordinary diner-like atmosphere, has a total of 48 seats, including 8 counter seats. When I visited the restaurant, there was already smoke in the air and the smell of garlic was very appetizing. Looking at the menu, the price of teppan yakiniku named “Teppan-yaki” is the same as that of Bikkuritei Honke Head Shop. The only difference is that the Ganso Bikkuritei Sumiyoshi branch only offers up to two servings of yakiniku on the menu, while rice and miso soup are free during weekday lunch hours…
How is it different from teppan yakiniku at Bikkuritei Honke Head Shop? I tried the Teppan-yaki for one at Ganso Bikkuritei Sumiyoshi Branch.
Let me introduce the Teppan-yaki for one that I ordered at Ganso Bikkuritei Sumiyoshi Branch. The price is the same as the one for one ordered at Bikkuritei Honke Head Shop, 900 yen including tax…
After more than 10 minutes of waiting, the Teppan-yaki for one, rice, and miso soup arrived in front of me. The volume of each dish looks exactly the same. If I dare to say that there is a difference in appearance, I would say that the Teppan-yaki here is more firmly stir-fried, and some parts of the cabbage and meat are charred…
Now, let’s pick up the cabbage and pork with chopsticks…
Let’s have it on the rice… This one also has a gutsy saltiness and garlic flavor. Compared to Bikkuritei Honke’s Teppan Yakiniku, this one is slightly saltier and less garlicky. Also…
Maybe it was just a fluke that day, but the teppan yakiniku I ordered at Ganso Bikkuritei Sumiyoshi Branch was more oily than the one at Bikkuritei Honke. I will make a sauce with spicy miso later, but for those who prefer to eat with this sauce, this would be more appreciated.
And then, put the spicy miso paste provided at the table into this oil…
After dissolving the spicy miso, dip the meat and cabbage…
The spicy miso is mildly spicy and more flavorful at the Ganso Bikkuritei. Of course, both restaurants offer delicious teppan yakiniku, but I have the impression that Ganso Bikkuritei caters to a wider range of customers, while Bikkuritei Honke is more for the core fans. Although there is not a big difference, the differences between Ganso Bikkuritei and Bikkuritei Honke can be summarized as follows…
- The spiciness of spicy miso is milder at Ganso Bikkurikutei.
- Teppan-yaki of Ganso Bikkurikutei is more oily.
- Genso Bikkurikutei stir-fries its ingredients more intensively.
- The Teppan-yaki of Genso Bikkurikutei is more salty and less garlicky.
Now serving take-out…Access to Ganso Bikkuritei Sumiyoshi Branch is a 15-minute walk from the nearest station, JR Hakata Station.
Ganso Bikkuritei Sumiyoshi Branch also offers teppan yakiniku for take-out. This teppan yakiniku is a great snack for drinks, so it is highly recommended to take it home to the hotel where you are staying and have a drink. Well, if taking it out, the teppan will be gone, so the enjoyment will be reduced… Why don’t you stop by the restaurant and take home some teppan yakiniku while you buy a can of beer at the convenience store?
Now, here are the details of the restaurant…
