Nokke-don is a bowl of rice cooked as "nokke" for warm rice, by choosing as much as you like from all kinds of ingredients such as sashimi, meat, side dishes, and local specialties. Originally, the "Kate bowl" of Kushiro Washo Market in Hokkaido originated, and it is the Nokke bowl that changed its name and spread in Aomori.
The place where you can call this ancestor, which is now introduced on TV shows and online as a local gourmet of Aomori, is near JR Aomori Station. There...
Aomori Uosai Center｜A popular fresh fish market that claims to be the originator of Nokkedon… What is your ideal seafood bowl?
A small fish market called Aomori Uosai Center. In the market that has been operating in the same place for more than 40 years, the operation of Nokkedon started in 21. Therefore, Nokke-don itself is a food with a relatively short history.
When you enter the building marked with a large red sign, there are three streets running from the entrance side to the back. There are more than 3 stores and dining spaces on both sides of the aisle. Most of them are fish stores, but the feature of this center is that it also includes butchers, side dishes and souvenir shops.
You don't have to make a seafood bowl just because it's a fish market. If you are not good at sashimi, you can make a non-rice bowl with only side dishes. There are shops like this in the market, so it's quite possible to make and eat ultra-luxury beef bowls instead of seafood bowls.
The ingredients for Nokeke Don are exchanged for tickets. First of all, it is recommended to walk the whole market in order to imagine the completed system.
Now, let's introduce how to procure the ingredients that will play a leading role in Nokke Don. The purchase of various ingredients of Nokekedon is exchanged for tickets that can only be used in the market. So first you have to buy a ticket.
There is a ticket office along the aisle on the left side of the market where you can buy tickets. There are two types: a set of 5 (750 yen including tax) and a set of 10 (1500 yen including tax). If you want to make the bowl more gorgeous, we recommend purchasing the 2 set.
When you get the ticket, first of all, I will procure the white rice that can be said as the base of the bowl (it is not vinegared rice), but one caveat here. To get this white rice, you need one ticket for normal and two tickets for large.
If you do not count the ticket for white rice, you will regret the toppings later and you will regret it. If you only bought 5 tickets, a large serving of rice would only allow you to load up to 3 different toppings.
Therefore, it is recommended that you walk through the market and pick out your ideal Noke-don bowl topping candidates before you eat rice. It is interesting to see that there are competitions in each store, although there are foods that each store is focusing on, and even though they are friends who do business in the same place. Even with tuna, different types of tuna are sold depending on the store, and I hear people say, "There is a big tuna over there, but ours is a real tuna from Oma!"
Let's start buying toppings! White rice will be exchanged for tickets at this shop, which is on the far right as seen from the entrance...
Get ordinary rice here! (Ticket-1). Then, the big red shrimp that had the star on it (ticket -1)...
And then Tuna (2 tickets)...
After all it is expensive, but sea urchin (three tickets) and salmon roe (two tickets-3) cannot be removed...
And with the last one, I got the soup that had been staring during the tour!
Click here for the completed Nokke-don... Hmm, it's delicious, but something lonely
Here is the Nokke-don that is completed...
Well, I'm a little lonely. Especially the part where you can see the white rice in front of the bowl. I wish I could fill this with ingredients...
Anyway, I actually eat... Hmm, happy. Big red prawns that you can eat pre-prepared, not a real tuna, but a toro fillet with a firm fat on it, a rich savory sea urchin sea urchin and a bubble wrap that you can't help but feel. If you say this is "bad", you will be punished by the god of the sea.
That said, I still wanted to fill the surface of the bowl with seafood...I regret a bit. You can fill it up with cheap material, but if you put in expensive ingredients such as sea urchin and toro, it will be difficult with 10 tickets. Especially for men, it may be better to purchase 10 tickets + α tickets from the beginning.
I should have had 15 tickets at that time...
I left Aomori with a little regret. But the ingredients are still good! The seafood bowl on the bowl doesn't go away from my head. I don't want to keep this moyamoya in my head, so one day...
I came all the way from Kansai again! !!
It's okay if you think you're a stupid guy to go all out for a bowl of soup. It's very unhealthy to leave the haze in your head for a long time. You can eat delicious rice, and there is nothing wrong with transportation costs! (-.-;)
Apart from that, let's make the second non-rice bowl with different ingredients from the first one. First, buy 2 tickets at the ticket office (Price: 1 yen)...
After getting rice (1 ticket), I went around the market and got oysters (2 tickets) that I had noticed!
Next, this is a tuna from Aomori/Oma that I couldn't eat last time. Get Otoro (2 tickets), Medium Toro (1 ticket) and Lean (1 ticket)!
Furthermore, scallops (1 ticket), squid (1 ticket), snow crab with miso (2 tickets), salmon, gurnard (it seems to be written as kanji in kanji), Toro shimaba, whale ( Each ticket-1 ticket) and get one after another...
Did it! There are many seafood items that cover the bowl. The main tuna from Oma, which is the main character this time, is hidden under the Toro Shime mackerel. Outside the bowl, there are large oysters and whale meat that couldn't fit in the bowl... Once you've made it this far, you'll never forget it!
Then, the real meal...Isn't this delicious? The tuna of this tuna was completely different from the tuna I ate last time. The fat is on it well, but it's not persistent, it's delicate and melts on my tongue... Even the red meat is tender and full-bodied. Well, the freshness is completely different, so the freshness is completely different.
So, my second visit successfully completed the mission. To be honest, it's not so much cheaper than the seafood bowls you eat in big cities like Tokyo and Osaka. However, I think the biggest attraction of this Nokke Don is that you can eat fresh seafood from the morning that morning at a market with a different atmosphere.
